The IRS is planning to send out electronic payments as soon as April 9 as part of the $2 trillion coronavirus law.  However, $30 million in paper checks won't start being sent out until April 24 and could take into September before all checks are received.  To speed up the process, the IRS will be setting up a portal so that those who have not used direct deposit with either their 2018 or 2019 tax returns can enter in their information.  If direct deposit information is still not provided checks will be mailed out according to the IRS plan of distribution.
